The Homestead’s legacy began in 1766, a decade before the American Revolution. But it didn’t become famous until J.P. Morgan invested in the hotel in 1888, and the Ingalls family built the hotel into the landmark mountain resort it is today. By the late 1890s, The Homestead had become the playground of Presidents and dignitaries.
Homestead Preserve owners have access to all The Homestead has to offer through membership in The Homestead Golf & Tennis Club. Those amenities include the historic Jefferson Pools in Warm Springs as well as The Homestead Spa, which has been open since 1901.
The Homestead offers access to three championship golf courses. The Cascades Course was recently named “One of the Top 100 Golf Courses to Play” by Golf Magazine. The resort also offers a variety of winter sports including skiing and snowmobiling as well as an extensive array of additional outdoor activities like tennis, horseback riding, skeet shooting, fly fishing, and falconry.
